This activity gives the participants a chance to get to know each other better.
The method can be used in various topics and subjects (including language learning). General learning outcomes are:
1. The participants get to know each other;
2. They feel more comfortable in a new team.

Digital skills for online participants
The method works well if the majority of the group is offline and only one person is online. If there are more learners online it is possible either to use several rooms or make a separate “Speed dating” activity for them.
Each learner in the class gets a printed clock face and the online participant gets a file in the chat. Everybody has to find somebody for every hour in the clock face and agree on the meeting. Only one person will go for each hour. For example: 12.00 Mary; 14.00 Steve; 18.00 John; 21.00 Betty. Offline participants involve also online learners. When everybody has a pair for each hour, the educator announces the hour, people find a partner and the educator says the question to discuss. Every hour the participants will have a different question to discuss with a new partner.
Examples of questions:
08.00 What/where was the most incredible trip in your life?
10.00 Describe your ideal day
12.00 What do you like in your work/studies most of all?
14.00 What is the best dish you can cook?
16.00 Share your warm childhood memory
18.00 Why are you here?
You can add/delete time depending on the number of the participants.
