A mind map starts from a certain centre, which is a topic/object/phenomenon, and branches from there into sub-concepts. In turn, connections between sub-concepts can be found and expressed. Using the concept map method, some laws are explained or an answer to a focus question is given. A concept map is a network of connections between two concepts, which may be represented as single words, phrases or symbols.

There are many different pages on the internet for making a concept map. I have also tested parts with my students and found environments – which they like and which they don’t.

In the first informatics lesson, we made a concept map with the 6th and 7th grades. Making the concept map wasn’t difficult for them, but the download part was a bit confusing. But downloading is actually easy:
You have to press the download button indicated by the red circle in the right corner and choose the format of the concept map you want (generally, the images have a JPG file extension).
The download will then take place automatically (usually the downloads will go to the new-mind-map.jpg folder on the computer automatically).

https://www.mindmup.com/ – Making a mind map is actually easy, you don’t need to log in, and it’s also free to download. Also, a good environment to use.
https://www.mindmeister.com/ – it’s easy to do, but with the free version you can’t download the concept map (in this case you should take a screenshot (Prt Scr button on the keyboard -> paste the image into the Paint program Ctrl+V -> Cut out the appropriate part Crop -> Save!)
http://mindmapfree.com/ – making it a bit more complicated and the appearance of the concept map is not so understandable and attractive. We used it in computer class with the kids, but there were a lot of problems with it.

Educators
The concept map method can be applied in several ways:
a) knowledge system before learning;
b) recalling and systematizing the learned knowledge - the student finds the concepts about the given topic by himself;
c) remembering and systematizing what has been learned - the teacher gives the student the necessary concepts;
d) to draw conclusions from the problem task, etc.
When preparing concept maps, the teacher must definitely keep in mind the set goal. It is not recommended to use more than 20 terms for association in one lesson. The concept map method can be used as individual, group, group or whole class work.

teaches to distinguish terms and use them correctly;
teaches to relate concepts to each other;
creates an opportunity to relate what has been learned to previous knowledge;
