Getting to know each other with “Äsk” cards
Each participant gets a card with a question to answer.
The method can be used in various topics and subjects (including language learning). General learning outcomes are:
- The participants get to know each other;
- They feel more comfortable in a new team.

In a hybrid group there can be questions on the set of cards, but also prepared in a document in the laptop, so that the educator can quickly copy the right question and put it in a chat, so that the participant can read it if they have some problem with hearing.

Hybrid method
In online version the questions can be prepared in a virtual board (e.g.Google Jamboard) and hidden behind colourful cards with numbers. The educator asks each participant a number and opens the question.
Online method
When the participants get to know each other, they tell their name and select one question to answer. The questions come from the set “Äsk”. Some examples of questions:
– Name two things that you always need to have in your fridge
– What is your favourite scent? It doesn’t have to be perfume, just scent.
– What is your zodiac sign and does its description match your personality?
– Would you rather live a life that lasts for 100 years or 4 different ones which last for 25 years each?
– What is the best dish you can prepare? When did you last make it?
– If you could only travel to one country for the rest of your life, which country would you choose?
– You can spend a day in the body of another person. Who would you choose and what would be the first thing you do?
– What is your dream destination and why?
-Who were you named after?
– Would you rather speak all the languages of the world or be able to speak to animals?
– Have you ever collected anything? What was it? What is the weirdest thing anyone you know ever collected?
– You get to ask your pet one question with an answer guaranteed. What will you ask?
-Have you ever been on TV? What was the occasion?
-Name something that made your childhood that new generations children do not do.
– 10 hours of free services each month from either a cleaner, massage, chef, personal trainer or babysitter. Which service would you choose?
-If you wake up tomorrow perfect in any talent of your choice, what would you choose and why?
-Name a family tradition you have that you really like.

The proposed activity has been carried out by the students of Level I and II of adult secondary school, in the classroom modality and in the Spanish language and literature module. Therefore, we have initially proceeded to the translation of the original document.
The activity is suitable for the initial sessions of the course and is of great help in group cohesion. Experience tells us that the possibilities of success of the people who make up a group are greater if each person who makes up the group feels good in it.
Generating healthy coexistence dynamics in an academic group like ours is something we value as very positive and this activity has been of great help to us, since the proposed questions are crazy and contribute to awaken a collective smile.
